Epiphany Women in Focus is located in the heart of a historically economically disadvantaged community. The majority of this community's residents are below the poverty level, 75% being single mother households. 25% of San Diego homicides occurred in this community in 2019. The number of low-income households with mental health issues is about 8% which is one of the most vulnerable. Being at the forefront we can identify the direct needs of the community and provide access to the necessary information, services, and skills individuals need to be successful. Daily members of this community come to the center looking for groups that they can attend that focus on education, health promotion, and coping skills. Our empowerment center is open to the community Monday-Friday and is known for being a place for the community to come together.
At T.H.E C.I.R.C.L.E by Epiphany, we believe in providing safe spaces for individuals and families from our underserved community. We achieve this by using restorative, trauma-informed care to assist with healing from adverse childhood experiences and traumas. Our goal is to develop our community and to manage conflict/tensions by not only repairing harm and restoring relationships, but by empowering individuals/families with the space, education, resources, and referrals needed to obtain successful skills for coping with life.
Being in nature, or even viewing scenes of nature, reduces anger, fear, and stress and increases pleasant feelings. Exposure to nature not only makes you feel better emotionally, it contributes to your physical wellbeing, reducing blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension, and the production of stress hormones.
Talent is defined as a natural aptitude or ability to do something well. It is something that we are born with or develop through practice and experience. Everyone has at least one talent, but some people have more talents than others. Showcase your talent during our summer programs
